How big can the output actually get? The model multiplies each dimension by four, and the practical ceiling is your graphics card's memory rather than a service plan. Most mid-range cards handle a 4x pass on a typical phone photo comfortably; very large sources may need to be processed in stages.
Will it fix blur or JPEG compression? Not by itself. Super-resolution sharpens and enlarges what is there; it does not refocus a missed shot, and heavy compression artifacts will enlarge along with the detail. Clean the source first when you can — the upscaler rewards good input disproportionately, and a two-minute crop-and-denoise pass before upscaling routinely improves the result more than any setting change after it.
Why does the first run take longer than the rest? The engine loads the model into GPU memory on first use. That one-time load can take a while; every run after it in the same session skips the load and returns in seconds. Leave the engine running while you batch.
